Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Class-IV (MTS) posts: Minimum qualification — Matriculation (10th pass); Maximum qualification 10+2 (12th pass), as per S.O. 184 of 2020 read with SRO 99 of 2008.
  • Sanitation Worker posts: Minimum qualification 8th Pass; Maximum qualification 10+2, as per S.O. 132 of 2022.

Candidates possessing a qualification higher than the prescribed maximum, or lower than the prescribed minimum, are not eligible and their candidature is liable to be summarily rejected at any stage.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process for JKSSB 09 of 2026 comprises a written Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)examination conducted in English language only. There is a negative marking of one-fourth (1/4th) of the marks assigned to each question for every wrong answer, so candidates should attempt questions with reasonable certainty rather than guessing indiscriminately.

The syllabus for the examination will be released separately on the official JKSSB website closer to the exam date.

Merit-cum-Preference & Additional Weightage

Beyond the written test score, the Board awards additional weightage points as per S.O. 184 of 2020, differing slightly by cadre:
