When and Where to Download the Admit Card
Candidates can download their admit cards by following below details:
- Go to the official website at sssc.gov.in.
- On the homepage, find active link under “Latest News” or “Admit Cards” section.

Selection Process
The selection process of this recruitment is of two stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): This is the primary and most decisive stage. The final merit list is prepared purely on the basis of marks scored in the CBT.
- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): Only candidates who clear the CBT are called for this stage. It is qualifying in nature and does not add to the merit list, but every candidate must clear it to remain in contention.

CBT Exam Pattern
The written exam is conducted online and carries 100 marks, split into two subjects General Knowledge and English Composition to be attempted within a total duration of two hours. Per the latest corrigendum, the English Composition (objective) section was revised down to 20 questions worth 20 marks, alongside a separate subjective portion for essay, letter, and précis writing along with translation. General Knowledge typically carries 50 marks in the objective format.
Candidates need to clear a qualifying threshold of roughly 33% in each subject separately and 40% in the aggregate, so simply scoring well in one paper is not enough falling short in either subject can knock a candidate out regardless of their overall total. There is also a negative marking provision for wrong answers in the objective sections, so guesswork should be approached cautiously.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
Candidates shortlisted from the CBT must also clear the CPT, which has two parts:
- A Spreadsheet Test worth 10 marks, to be completed in 10 minutes, requiring a minimum of 40% marks to qualify.
- A Computer Typing Test in English, where candidates must type at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute.
Since typing speed and basic spreadsheet handling are non-negotiable qualifying requirements, candidates who have been focusing purely on General Knowledge revision should set aside daily practice time for typing before the CPT stage arrives.
Documents to Carry on Exam Day
Once the admit card is downloaded, candidates should prepare an exam-day folder with:
- A clear printout of the admit card
- A valid original photo ID (Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, or driving licence)
- Two passport-size photographs, matching the one uploaded during registration
- Any category or PwD certificate, if applicable and mentioned as required
Arriving at the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card is strongly advised, since latecomers are typically not permitted entry once the gates close, in line with standard CBT exam protocol.
